For anyone who follows the blog and doesn't already know... Traven is in Fort Myers, FL checking out the area and facility where he has applied for a job. We probably won't know anything for awhile but we are excited that he is there. Since I wasn't able to tag along he has my camera which I forgot to get all of the new Mya pictures off of before he left. When he gets back I'll post new Mya pictures and probably Florida pictures too.
Yesterday morning after Mya and I dropped him off at the airport we went to the zoo and had a great time. We saw the grizzly bears, river otters, wolves, penguins, at lots more and we rode the carousel - despite all of that fun stuff I think the highlight of Mya's day was running in to her daycare teacher Miss Nathalya at the grocery store. She does love 'Tal-ya'!

eye update
I spoke with Dr. Cadera this morning and we agreed to go ahead with Mya's eye surgery for intermittant exotropia. They will do both eyes at the same time. It is an out patient procedure that will be done in Seattle. At this point we are waiting for the ball to get rolling with our insurance then we will schedule the appointment.

vacation - part 1
We spent the first half of our trip at the farm with Traven's mom and dad. I love love love it there and we had a great time. Mya is totally a farm girl and she absolutely loved the chickens, she fed them every day and collected eggs with Grandma Cindy. She also enjoyed seeing the dogs, cows, pigs, and riding the four wheeler aka the broom-broom. We went to the creek one day and had a great time finding cool rocks, crawdads, and minnows. It was so nice to be able to spend so much time outside!

back in the northwest/eye update
We're back from vacation and of course we had a wonderful trip. My camera battery died and as it's new and I'm not used to having a camera with a rechargeable battery so I didn't have the charger which means I have very few pictures. Groan. The good news is that we took a lot of pictures with other people's cameras I just don't know when/if they will get uploaded to the blog. Our flights all went well, Mya is a trooper it's a hard day of traveling each way for us much less for a one year old. I've been asked about highlights of our trip and there are too many to list so I'll try to write more about the trip as the week goes on.
Mya's eye appointment was on Tuesday and the technician said that her eyes are the same to slightly worse from her previous appointment six weeks ago. The doctor Mya goes to only works in Mount Vernon on Thursdays (otherwise he's at Children's Hospital in Seattle) so he's going to call me tomorrow to review her chart.
