potty update

So awhile back Mya decided it was cool to go potty, but really only when she felt like it and we've been working diligently to show her that what would be the absolute coolest would be if she went potty all of the time. Our incessant asking her if she needed to go potty ended up offending her then she didn't want to potty. Somehow we seem to have rounded the bend and yesterday she only used two pull-ups all day at daycare and then last night we went to dinner with some friends and she asked to potty two times and was still dry at bath time. Yeah Mya!!!!!

eye update

Mya had an eye apppointment this morning with Jessie the technician. She said that her eyes tested great and they are following things together and even with the prisms and lenses they use to try to make the eyes relax there was still no outward drift. Yeah! Next appointment in 2 - 3 months.

My camera is still in the shop - boo hiss

It is such a bummer but my camera is in the shop for a couple of weeks (hopefully). So no new pictures for awhile. Here's what's new - Mya had her two year old check up which was fine and she has a post-op for her eyes next week. She's been having so much fun with her birthday toys especially her paint - she has been painting every day so we are completely inundated with toddler art. We're already out of yellow paint - big suprise!

surgery and birthday

Sorry for the delay in posting... Mya's surgery went great. Her eyes aren't drifting anymore - yeah for binocular vision!!! They are also drastically less bloodshot now and it hasn't even been a full week. Her eyes haven't been oozing either so we get to forgoe her eye ointment which is a relief to us all although I must say she handled it like a champ.

Mya had a great birthday with lots of presents and cake and ice cream which she wouldn't eat.

We had such a great time with Peepaw Otie and G-ma Virg, I'm sure Mya is going to find it very boring at home now that they're gone.

The bad news... my camera is broken and I neglected to upload G-ma Virg's pictures from her camera. Boo hiss for no new pictures I know!

tomorrow is surgery day...

G-Ma and Peepaw arrived last night and we're so glad they're here! Strabismus surgery is scheduled for 9:00 tomorrow in Seattle - we have to leave the house at 6:00 to fight the I-5 traffic and get there the required hour early. All with a one year old who LOVES milk and isn't allow to have anything to drink the morning of surgery. Yeah. I must say that my nerves were a little haywire last week but as of now I am holding it together. (Now ask me again how I'm feeling tomorrow morning and I'm not sure what you'll get...)

Mount Vernon street fair

On Saturday Mya, my friends Jamie and Hannah and I went to a street fair that was happening in downtown Mount Vernon. The totally awesome art store downtown, Tri-Dee, had a little area next to their building for people to color with sidewalk chalk. We left our mark and couldn't resist snapping some shots of the other squares done by actual artists.
